Original police drama Flashpoint was renewed by ION Television for a fifth season containing 13 episodes. Production begins on the new episodes in February. Flashpoint has aired on ION in primetime since October 2011 following the network’s acquisition of all episodes from seasons 1-3 as well as 11 original episodes from season four. The series is produced by Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment in association with CTV and ION Television.

TV One premieres new docu-drama series Find Our Missing beginning January 18 at 10p. The 10-episode series focuses attention on stories about people of color who have disappeared without a trace and will encourage viewers to action by contacting police and FBI if they have vital information about the missing persons. Find Our Missing is hosted by actress S. Epatha Merkerson (NBC’s Law & Order) and is produced for TV One by Towers Productions.

A new original eight-episode series will premiere next month on Netflix as Lilyhammer starring Steven Van Zandt opens on February 6. Van Zandt, best known for his role on HBO’s The Sopranos plays a New York mobster who is relocated to rural Norway. Van Zandt will also serve as one of the series’ executive producers. Lilyhammer was developed and produced by Norway-based Rubicon TV AS. The series will be available to Netflix streaming subscribers in the US, Canada and Latin America.

Making a comeback to series television, Cybill Shepherd was cast to co-star opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt in Lifetime’s drama The Client List. Shepherd is reprising her role as the mother of Hewitt’s character as both actresses had previously starred in Lifetime’s original movie of the same name. Sony is producing the 10-episode one-hour series.

Simon Cowell is returning as full-time judge for the sixth season of Britain’s Got Talent this coming spring. During the last season, Cowell judged only the live shows as his time was filled with launching The X-Factor in the US on FOX. Cowell joins David Williams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden on the show.
