On Monday, FOX said it is moving the midseason finale of Bones from December 15 to January 12. The episode titled The Crack in the Code will now air the same night as FOX premieres new series The Finder. The current seventh season of Bones has a total of six episodes and after the January 12 finale will go on hiatus until spring 2012. Showrunner Hart Hanson indicated when Bones returns the series will either complete its 13-episode order or bump to a 17-episode super-sized season.

During NBC’s Sunday Night Football game between the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions, NBC and the NFL announced Madonna was selected as the halftime performer for Super Bowl XLVI. Madonna is teaming with the creative group at Cirque du Soleil, choreographer Jamie King and multi-media artists from Moment Factory to create her live performance. NBC will air Super Bowl XLVI on February 5.

Lisa Kudrow’s series Web Therapy was granted a second season order from Showtime. The former online comedy series starring Kudrow as Fiona Wallice, the self-serving psychotherapist who treats patients in three-minute increments via webcam, was given at least ten half-hour episodes for the second season airing in 2012. Fiona will give advice during the new season to Meryl Streep, Rosie O’Donnell, Conan O’Brien, Molly Shannon, Minnie Driver and Selma Blair; Lily Tomlin is returning as Fiona’s mother along with Dan Bucatinsky as Fiona’s assistant and Victor Garber as Fiona’s husband. Kudrow created Web Therapy with Don Roos and Bucatinsky for Is or Isn’t Entertainment.

Tonight, TR3s: MTV, Musica y Mas, the bilingual/bicultural entertainment network for US Latinos opens a new biography series at 7p called La Escalera (The Ladder) that profiles present-day Latinos and their rise to fame. The first season will highlight comedian Carlos Mencia, Spanish rock star Juanes, entertainment blogger Perez Hilton and actor Wilmer Valderrama among others. La Escalera will air on Tuesdays at 7p on Tr3s.

Early in the New Year, TV One premieres ten new episodes of Unsung, its one-hour biography series honoring the lives and careers of successful black artists who may not have received the level of recognition they deserved. The new episodes will air weekly on Mondays beginning January 2 at 10p with a profile of R&B/jazz singer Vesta Williams and encore episodes will repeat on Mondays at 1a. Others profiled include Bobby Womack, Atlantic Starr and Freddie Jackson among others.

Getting organized in the New Year, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network revealed it will air a two-night premiere of Extreme Clutter in its second season hosted by organization expert Peter Walsh. The series was previously titled Enough Already! with Peter Walsh and will open January 1 at 11p following the two-hour debut of Oprah’s Next Chapter at 9p. A second premiere episode of Extreme Clutter will air on January 2 at 10p in its regular time period. Jeff Kuntz and Peter Walsh serve as executive producers on Extreme Clutter in association with Discovery Studios.

Sara Rue (Less Than Perfect) lands another comedy project as The CW approved a script for the multi-camera comedy Poseurs. The plot is about Lucy (Rue) who loses her fiancée and at the same time her college best friend, Alexandra moves in. Lucy and Alex agree to a mutually beneficial domestic partnership to keep Lucy’s upscale New York co-op. Rue will write the half-hour sitcom produced by Warner Bros. Television. Furthermore, Rue will be listed as a co-executive producer along with her manager and producer Alan David. Rue recently hosted The CW’s reality series Shedding for the Wedding.

A talent deal was forged between E! Entertainment and David Burtka where he will become a correspondent for E! News in addition to other programs such as participating in Live from the Red Carpet and E! Specials. Burtka will begin his reporting duties full-time in January.
