From 5a to 7a Monday-Friday, Ashleigh Banfield, previously with MSNBC and ABC and Zoraida Sambolin, formerly with the NBC affiliate in Chicago will co-anchor. The 7a to 9a period will be helmed by anchor Soledad O’Brien. CNN said the first two-hour block will be more news-oriented while the second anchored by O’Brien will be talk-focused. O’Brien previously served as co-anchor of the network’s American Morning from 2003 to 2007 and has since hosted several In America primetime documentaries per year for the network.
