Grabbing current headlines, MTV is working on a reality series about the Occupy Wall Street protesters at Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan, New York called True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street. True Life will follow three young people who are involved with the movement in New York. MTV spent two weeks with the threesome and other protestors, following their daily activities. The series is set to premiere November 5 at 6p.

MTV also welcomes back Beavis and Butt-Head as a new animated comedy block debuts this Thursday starting with Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head at 10p followed by the series opener of Good Vibes at 1030p featuring voice talent from Adam Brody, Josh Gad, Danny McBride and Debi Mazar and others.

Preliminary numbers for new series Boss, starring Kelsey Grammer on STARZ attracted 1.72 million total viewers for the premiere launch weekend. Boss’ combined Friday night audience tallied 1.05 million total viewers with 659,000 viewers watching the 10p episode.

Katie Couric’s upcoming nationally syndicated talk show, Katie has been cleared in more than 60% of the US in a matter of six weeks, reports Disney-ABC Domestic Television. The one-hour daytime talk show is scheduled to launch in September 2012. Disney-ABC Domestic Television has secured station clearances in early fringe time periods with sales in 14 of the top 15 markets. Katie now has been sold to broadcast groups including Allbritton Communications, Belo Corporation, Cox Media Group, Gannett Broadcasting, Hearst Television, LIN Broadcasting, McGraw-Hill, Scripps Howard Broadcasting and Young Broadcasting. Recent clearances include those on WFAA/Dallas; WCVB/Boston; WSB/Atlanta; WJLA/Washington, D.C., WXYZ/Detroit; KNXV/Phoenix; KING/Seattle; and WFTS/Tampa among others. The previously announced ABC Owned station group will also be airing Katie.

The Wendy Williams Show delivers solid ratings for the FOX stations across the country. Nationally, the talker averaged a 1.0 HH in the week ended October 9.

Actress Aisha Tyler, best known for her roles on Ghost Whisperer and Friends, is joining CBS’ The Talk as a new co-host alongside Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood. Tyler had previously guest-hosted on The Talk which is commemorating its one year anniversary this month. Tyler begins her new gig on Monday. She also continues to be a voice talent on FX’s animated series Archer playing Lana.

Vampires Diaries star Arielle Kebbel is staying with The CW after landing a recurring role on 90210. Kebbel will play Vanessa, a bad girl who becomes romantically linked with one of the show’s leading men. Kebbel makes her 90210 bow in December.

Usually a comedic actress, Jenna Elfman is cast in the drama Damages for its fifth and final season on DirecTV. Elfman will play an investment bank employee who is bothered by her company’s activities. Additionally, Alexandra Socha (The Big C) was cast as the daughter to Elfman’s character and John Hannah will be in multiple episodes playing an advisor to Channing McClaren (Ryan Phillippe). The final season of Damages will air on DirecTV next summer.
