A fifth season is in the pipeline for Sons of Anarchy on FX. The network ordered a 13-episode fifth season from Fox 21 and FX Productions. Presently in its fourth season, Sons of Anarchy is averaging 5.8 million total million and 3.9 million among A18-49, an increase of +30% and +26% respectively over season three. The premiere episode of season four, that launched September 6, also has the distinction of being the most watched program in FX’s history with 6.5 million total viewers.

Exploring the question of what it is like to be Muslim in America, TLC premieres a new eight-part series, All-American Muslim on November 13 at 10p. The series will go inside the world of five American Muslim families living in Dearborn, MI as they try to balance faith and nationality in a post-9/11 world.

Fast food company McDonald’s is getting into the TV business by launching an in-store digital TV network, The McDonald’s Channel in twenty locations around the country featuring local news, sports, movie and TV show previews, entertainment segments and human interest stories. Content partners for The McDonald’s Channel include Mark Burnett’s digital production company Vimby as well as BBC America and KABC-TV Eyewitness News among others. The new digital network will include customized programming aiming at specific communities which will roll out over the coming months. ChannelPort Communications, involved with the channel launch and content strategy, says The McDonald’s Channel may reach 18 million to 20 million people every month. Since December 2008, The McDonald’s Channel has been tested in a store in California and one in Las Vegas.

MTV is notching a second season of Ridiculousness featuring Rob Dyrdek as he presents funny amateur viral videos. Ridiculousness airs at 10p on Mondays. The series is currently MTV’s second highest-rated program with males 12-34 behind Jersey Shore and it also averages a 1.8 rating with P12-34 and 1.9 million viewers each week. The series is produced by Dickhouse.

The 24-hour college network, mtvU launches a new short-form reality series Quiet Campus next Monday at 12p. The docu-series follows the lives of four deaf college students who attend Washington D.C.’s Gallaudet University, a top liberal arts institution for deaf and hard of hearing students.

Sunday’s sophomore season premiere of The Walking Dead on AMC at 9p posted the best telecast for any drama in basic cable history. The original series’ season two opener delivered 4.8 million among A18-49; 4.2 million with A25-54; and 7.3 million total viewers. Combining the series’ 9p, 1030p and 1230a airings, The Walking Dead delivered a cume of 11 million total viewers.

Former ABC’s Lost alum Hiroyuki Sanada landed a recurring role on ABC’s Revenge, cites EW. Sanada will play Kioshi Takeda, a Japanese business man who has mysterious ties to Emily Thorne (Emily Van Camp). He first appears in episode nine.

Frosh series A Gifted Man on CBS added Tom Wopat (Dukes of Hazzard) as the husband of Rita (Margo Martindale), per TVLine. Wopat plays Len Sr. who is described as a truck driver who spends a lot of time on the road though has a close relationship with his wife. Wopat will debut on the series in November.
