Chef Gordon Ramsay is taking on awful hotels in a new unscripted series for FOX with the working title Hotel Hell and produced by Ramsay’s One Potato Two Potato Inc. With his experience in operating restaurants and traveling around the world, Ramsay has a keen eye for how hotels should meet guest’s expectations. The series will follow Ramsay and his team of hospitality experts to different locales as they fix struggling hotels, middling motels and bad news bed and breakfast inns. Everything may be big in Texas including how many chefs are competing on the ninth season of Bravo’s Top Chef: Texas. Twenty-nine chefs, nearly double the previous seasons, will become chef’testants on the show though only 16 will head to Texas to compete in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio, when the new season opens November 2 at 10p. Padma Lakshmi is returning as host and head judge along with Chef Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons and the threesome will be joined by chef and restaurateur Emeril Lagasse and Chef Hugh Acheson as judges. Many celebrities will make appearances throughout the season including Charlize Theron, Pee-wee Herman, Cat Cora and Patti LaBelle among others. Magical Elves produces the series.

TV veteran Florence Henderson co-hosts a new cooking-themed show on RLTV titled Good Food, Good Deeds beginning September 29 at 8p. The network is teaming with the Meals On Wheels Association of America to present a series where a celebrity guest fills in as a Meals On Wheels volunteer. The show also features Henderson and co-host nutritionist Joy Bauer in the kitchen preparing a tasty healthy meal with Bauer further giving tips on foods to buy and how to make meals that are easy and delicious. Future celebrity guests include Linda Gray, Mariette Hartley and Bob Eubanks.

The sophomore season of sketch show Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time debuts on Comedy Central October 5 at 1030p directly after the fall season launch of South Park. A second season of The Will: Family Secrets Revealed is on tap starting October 19 at 9p on Investigation Discovery.  A new reality show is in the works from Roy Bank and his new company, Banca Studio featuring former Lost actor Doug Hutchison and his young wife, Courtney Stodden, per THR. The show does not have a title as of yet. Hutchison also appeared in the film The Green Mile as well as The X Files. Bank previously was the President/Television at Merv Griffin Entertainment.
