The series finale of FX’s Rescue Me ended Wednesday at 10p with 2.3 million total viewers and 1.3 million with A18-49. During its seventh and final season, Rescue Me averaged nearly 1.5 million total viewers which is +10% better than the previous sixth season.

On Tuesday, Bravo aired the season finale of Flipping Out which delivered its best-rated episode in the series’ history and also the season premiere of The Rachel Zoe Project which scored its highest-rated season debut ever among all key demos, based on Nielsen’s ratings data. The season five conclusion of Flipping Out attracted 1.76 million total viewers and 1.14 million among A18-49. The Rachel Zoe Project opened a fourth season with 1.26 million total viewers and 801,000 with A18-49.

ABC has plans to adapt Candace Bushnell’s 2008 book One Fifth Avenue and Josh Safran will write the adaptation and Mark Gordon is on board to produce. The project is called One Fifth and described as Sex and the City meets The Good Wife about columnist Cassie Bingham who moves back to her downtown apartment located at One Fifth Avenue after her husband asks for a separation. Bushnell will also be involved as producer.

TV host Chris Harrison (current host of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad) is about to get busier as ABC tapped him to emcee its new game show You Deserve It where contestants compete to win up to $500,000 for someone else, sometimes a family member, who is in need. The show’s six episodes begin taping next month though no premiere date has been announced.

Upcoming competition reality series Best Ink on Oxygen Media is set in the world of tattoo artists and has selected TV host/recording artist Kimberly Caldwell (American Idol, Season 2) as host, a tattoo enthusiast herself. Best Ink is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and is slated to premiere this winter.

A half-hour comedy is being developed at ABC Studios based on the book The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth by Jennifer Garner’s company Vandalia Films, cites Variety. The book, written by Alexandra Robbins is about seven different students with distinct quirks and how their personalities will prove valuable in adulthood. Bert Royal will write the pilot and Donna Roth and Susan Arnold will produce.

Former star of ER, Laura Innes was cast in a major recurring role on NBC’s midseason drama Awake. Innes will also direct one or two episodes of the series. In the cop drama, Innes will play Captain Tricia Harper, Michael Britten’s (Jason Isaacs) boss at the police department.
