Laura Dern’s new series Enlightened launches on HBO October 10 at 930p. Dern stars as Amy Jellicoe, an ambitious executive who, after a series of self-destructive choices, has a nervous breakdown. Following a long stay at a treatment center in Hawaii, Amy returns to her home life with a new enlightened existence which notches up the drama and wreaks unexpected havoc on her friends and family. HBO is airing ten episodes of Enlightened which also stars Mike White, who also directs and writes and is an executive producer along with Dern. Other stars of the series include Luke Wilson and Dern’s real-life mother, Diane Ladd among others.

NBC handed producer J.J. Abrams (Lost, Person of Interest, Alcatraz) and producer and creator of Supernatural, Eric Kripke a pilot production commitment for a project titled Revolution. The drama in development is described as an epic adventure thriller though key details are being kept secret. Warner Bros. Television and Abram’s Bad Robot are producing with Abrams, Kripke and Bryan Burk serving as executive producers. Kripke will additionally write the pilot.

44 Blue Productions, specializing in reality and lifestyle content forged a development agreement with Bricia Lopez, an up-and-coming culinary talent from Los Angeles who is a partner in the restaurant Guelageutza showcasing Oaxaca regional foods and culture. Lopez is considered an expert of Mexican food and culture and has appeared on numerous English- and Spanish-speaking programs and networks including Univision and Good Day LA. She is also the Spanish-language spokesperson for the “Got Milk” campaign. 44 Blue Productions is developing multiple series featuring Lopez and her passion for her native country, its foods and culture.
