Kiefer Sutherland is set to make a comeback on FOX in a new midseason drama series, Touch. FOX ordered 13 episodes of the series created and written by Tim Kring (Heroes). Touch, a series exploring the connection of science and spirituality, is scheduled to premiere in spring 2012. Chernin Entertainment and Tailwind Productions are producing in association with 20th Century Fox Television.

Next month, The Style Network bows a new docu-series featuring Katie Boyd, a former beauty queen who is not afraid to be tough on her female clients at her boutique women-only gym, Katie Boyd’s Miss Fit Club in Boston. The one-hour Wicked Fit premieres on Style October 23 at 9p following the series launch of Glam Fairy at 8p. Wicked Fit is produced by Renegade 83.

Lifetime handed good news to its scripted series Drop Dead Diva, renewing the show for a fourth season with 13 episodes. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, Drop Dead Diva returns in 2012 starring Margaret Cho, Jackson Hurst, Kate Levering, April Bowlby, Josh Stamberg and Ben Feldman. On the other hand, Lifetime has canceled Roseanne Barr’s reality docu-series, Roseanne’s Nuts after debuting the series in July. Roseanne’s Nuts aired 16 episodes fulfilling its order from the network. The show centered on Roseanne’s macadamia nut farm in Hawaii.

A former web series is making its debut in national syndication this Saturday night. Live from Daryl’s House premieres with two back-to-back 30m episodes. Live from Daryl’s House is a performance reality series set inside Daryl Hall’s home (of Hall & Oates fame). To date, the series has been cleared in nearly 80% of the US in the top 200 markets as well as all of the top 10 markets. Stations carrying the show include: WPIX/New York, KTLA/Los Angeles, WGN/Chicago, KDAF/Dallas and KIAH/Houston. The reality show is syndicated nationally by Good Cop Bad Cop Productions in association with Scott Sternberg Productions and distributor Trifecta Entertainment & Media.

A favorite children’s game will become a reality series on The CW as the network is developing an unscripted series called Extreme Musical Chairs. From the Gurin Co. and 405 Productions, the series morphs into a physically challenging competition with multiple rounds of eliminations set in an indoor obstacle course. The format was created by Phil Gurin, Richard Joel and Deena Dill.
