Making it official, FOX picked up the formerly-canceled comedy Breaking In for a 13-episode second season which will be back on the network’s schedule in 2012. Breaking In stars Christian Slater and is created by Adam F. Goldberg and Seth Gordon. The sitcom is produced by Happy Madison Productions, Adam F. Goldberg Productions and Sethsquatch, Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television.

Following a bidding war between ABC, CBS and NBC, it is expected the Country Music Association Awards will remain on ABC as part of a new agreement. Reports say the multi-year deal on ABC could reach $30 million per year and include a CMA Music Festival during the summer and a Christmas special. ABC has aired the CMA Awards since 2005 and before that CBS had rights to the awards event.

Shonda Rhimes, creator of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice has sold a new period drama project to ABC titled Gilded Lillys. The drama is set in 1895 about a luxurious hotel, the family who owns it and the hotel’s staff and the guests who stay at the hotel. K.J. Steinberg is writing the script and so far ABC granted a script pick-up of the project. ABC Studios will produce Gilded Lillys and Rhimes will be executive producer along with Betsy Beers. Rhimes also has the new political drama Scandal on the midseason roster at ABC.

ABC: Expedition Impossible (Finale) at 9pm
Thought to be defunct sitcom, Breaking In starring Christian Slater may get a reprieve from FOX. The network is working on a 13-episode second season order for Breaking In which would be part of a bigger deal involving the show’s co-creator Adam F. Goldberg. Sony Pictures Television, the production studio behind Breaking In and another comedy project from Goldberg is tying the two sitcoms together in a package deal for FOX.

Long-time series Inside the NFL received a three-year extension from Showtime and NFL Films just as the series begins its fourth season on Showtime, reports Variety. The series first aired on HBO in 1977 and moved to Showtime in 2008. Featuring anchor James Brown along with ex pro NFLers Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms and Warren Sapp as commentators, the series is produced by CBS Sports and NFL Films.

As ABC’s final broadcast date of daytime soap All My Children approaches (September 23), SOAPnet revealed plans to honor the multi-decade drama. On September 17 at 7p, SOAPnet will air a mini marathon of AMC episodes under the banner: I Love Lucci with five back-to-back episodes featuring Susan Lucci as Erica Kane. Following on September 18 at 5p, SOAPnet will air All My Children: Last Chance for Romance highlighting seven episodes featuring the show’s most celebrated lovers: Cliff and Nina; Jenny and Greg; Tad and Dixie; Ryan and Gillian; Leo and Greenlee; Zach and Kendall; and Angie and Jesse.

Late-night show Last Call with Carson Daly, currently airing on NBC at 135a, will also air on Fuse, the national music television network of The Madison Square Garden Company. Fuse made a deal with NBCUniversal Domestic Distribution involving the rights to rebroadcast Last Call’s new episodes beginning with the premiere of the 2011 season. Last Call episodes on NBC will air the following day on Fuse. In addition, extra Last Call content will be available via Fuse.tv including extended interviews and performances.
