Following NBC’s telecast of Super Bowl XLVI on February 5, 2012, the network slated the second season premiere of The Voice to air at 10p (time approximate). NBC will then premiere new musical series Smash on February 6 at 10p. The Voice will move to its regular day and time on February 6 from 8-10p.

Sports network VERSUS will be re-branded as NBC Sports Network effective January 2, 2012. NBC Sports Network will be a 24/7 cable network showcasing NBC Sports’ programming, production and promotions. Two drama series made their season debuts on TNT in July: The Closer amassed 9.3 million total viewers for its July 11 season seven premiere while Rizzoli & Isles on the same night delivered 8.6 million total viewers with both based on Live + 7 ratings data. The Closer’s opening episode additionally tallied 2.7 million among A18-49 and 3.5 million with A25-54 and Rizzoli & Isles’ premiere registered more than 2.3 million A18-49 viewers and 3.1 million among A25-54.
