Late last week, ABC approved a fifth season of Wipeout and added Vanessa Minnillo (MTV’s Total Request Live) as the reality show’s new co-host. The renewal notice encompasses the winter and summer editions of Wipeout for the 2011-2012 season. Minnillo will officially join the show for the next winter Wipeout replacing co-host Jill Wagner; John Anderson and John Henson remain in place as hosts.

This summer, MTV brings back its series True Life profiling real-life stories of young people at a crossroad in their lives. True Life opens a new season this Thursday with double episodes starting with “I’m Allergic to Everything” at 10p followed by “I’m No Longer Gay” at 11p. Other scheduled episodes include two more airing back-to-back on June 30 at 10p and 11p, and single eps on July 7, 14 and 21 at 10p.
