Monday’s third season premiere of Basketball Wives on VH1 at 8p delivered a 1.2 rating with A18-49 and 1.8 million total viewers. Factoring in the 11p airing, Basketball Wives had 3.5 million total viewers for the night. Following at 9p, VH1 aired the two-hour series premiere of Single Ladies, the network’s first one-hour scripted series, which posted a 1.2 rating with A18-49 and 1.8 million total viewers. When combined with its
12a encore airing, Single Ladies tallied 2.8 million total viewers for the night.

Actress Clarice Taylor recently died at the age of 93. Ms. Taylor is best known for playing Bill Cosby’s television mother, Anna Huxtable on the family comedy The Cosby Show which earned her an Emmy nomination in 1986. Ms. Taylor also played the character Harriet on the PBS children’s show Sesame Street for 14 years. Other acting credits include roles in films such as Play Misty for Me, Sommersby and Smoke as well as a stint on Broadway in The Wiz.

Veteran actress Cloris Leachman promoted to series regular on FOX’s comedy Raising Hope for its second season. On the show, Leachman plays the confused-acting “Maw Maw.” During the first season of the show, Leachman was billed as “special guest star.”
