Longtime NBC Sports Group Chairman Dick Ebersol announced yesterday he is resigning from the network. Ebersol has been involved in television sports for four decades with the last 22 years at NBC Sports. Mark Lazarus, President of NBC Sports Cable Group will take over as Chairman of the NBC Sports Group.

Hero pilot and author Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, III tapped by CBS News to become its Aviation and Safety Expert. Beginning his new post immediately, Sullenberger will offer analysis of aviation safety topics and be a contributor to CBS News broadcasts and platforms across the division. Sullenberger documented his courageous emergency landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in New York’s Hudson River on January 15, 2009 in his book, Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters.

The City of New York’s official network, NYC Media debuts the new series NYTV offering an inside look at the Big Apple’s arts and culture scene
with videos and content provided by The New York Times. The 30m series premieres next Monday at 830p on channel 25 via NYC Media. Each Monday night episode features NYC’s arts, culture and fashion news with video segments from New York Times and NYTimes.com reporters and columnists including fashion with Bill Cunningham’s “On The Street;” restaurant and drink hot spots from Frank Bruni’s “Tipsy Diaries;” urban experiences from “City Critic” Ariel Kaminer; new perspectives on classic films with A.O.
