Katie Couric, anchor of CBS Evening News is expected to announce this week her future plans which may include developing a daytime talk show.  In addition, several reports are saying CBS will additionally name Couric’s replacement following the network’s coverage of Britain’s Royal Wedding.  Couric’s contract with CBS expires in June.

In less than a month after its premiere, Showtime renewed its drama series The Borgias for a second season.  Ten new episodes starring Jeremy Irons as patriarch Rodrigo Borgia will begin production this summer for a 2012 debut.  The premiere episode pulled in 3.71 million total viewers for Showtime taking multiple platforms into consideration including on demand, encore airings and DVR.  The Borgias will continue as a Canadian-Irish-Hungarian Treaty co-production.  May 22 at 10p is the scheduled date/time for The Borgias’ season one finale.

Pop culture icon and legendary martial arts actor, instructor, composer, film director Bruce Lee will be highlighted in a new six-episode original series Bruce Lee Lives! premiering on FUEL TV July 17 at 10p.  Each half-hour episode examines Lee’s life which ended in 1973 at the age of 32, through personal stories of various filmmakers, musicians and athletes he influenced such as Ryan Phillippe, Carlos Santana, Chuck Liddell, Criss Angel, Omar Epps among many others.  The series, produced by Pangolin Pictures, also features never-before-seen interviews and videos of Lee’s own work.

CASTING CALL
A major cable network is looking for the ugliest homes in Los Angeles for a new reality home makeover show hosted by celebrity contractor Eric Stromer.  The show will follow Stromer and his team of expert designers as they transform the home in one week.  If you own an ugly home or know someone who has decorated their abode insanely or the house is terribly out-dated, send an email to: Andrewiscasting@gmail.com and include your names and ages, your contact phone numbers, your house location, photos of household members and their relationship, photos of all areas or rooms to be considered along with your brief story explaining why you want a makeover, how your home became out of control, who is responsible for the awful decor and who likes it and who hates it.  Deadline to be considered for this show is this Friday.  Candidates must be a home owner in Los Angeles or the surrounding area, have two or more spaces inside the home that are in desperate need of a makeover, have at least two people living in the home between the ages of 21-50 and be available for shooting during the last two weeks of May 2011.
