Next Monday, NBC is supersizing the live season finale of The Sing-Off by an extra 30 minutes to two-and-a-half hours starting at 8p. Syfy opted to not renew Stargate Universe for a third season. The series, starring Robert Carlyle, has 10 episodes remaining in its second season and Syfy will air these episodes beginning spring 2011.

Showtime is offering a Free Preview Weekend available to 61 million US households from January 7 through January 10. During that weekend, viewers can tune-in to programming available on Showtime, Showtime HD and Showtime On Demand sampling the new original series Shameless and Episodes as well as the fourth season premiere of Californication all airing that Sunday in a block from 9-11p. Legendary filmmaker Blake Edwards died Thursday morning at the age of 88. Mr. Edwards was writer/director on around 50 films, mostly comedies including the Pink Panther series, 10, Victor/Victoria starring his wife, Julie Andrews and other iconic films such as Days of Wine and Roses and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Mr. Edwards also experienced success through television with the hit series Peter Gunn and Mr. Lucky. In his personal life, Mr. Edwards was married to his first wife, Patricia for fourteen years and had two children, Jennifer and Geoffrey. In 1969, he married Ms. Andrews and together they adopted two Vietnamese orphan girls, Amy Leigh and Joanna Lynn.
