NBC is shaving the number of episodes for upcoming new midseason series Love Bites from 13 to 9 total episodes. NBC says the order for Love Bites is being cut to allow other midseason programming on its schedule. Love Bites in an hour-long romantic comedy starring Becki Newton about singles seeking love.

The Hasselhoffs on A&E has been pulled from the lineup after just two outings, reports New York Magazine. Starring David Hasselhoff and his two daughters, the show pulled 718,000 total viewers for its premiere, dropping 30% for its second episode. A total of 10 episodes were ordered.

MTV debuts the new series I Used to be Fat on December 29 at 10p following overweight teens from their last weeks of high school through their first days of college as they work hard to lose large amounts of weight to start anew. Each 60m episode concentrates on the weight-loss journey of one teen as they go through a huge lifestyle change. I Used to be Fat will also air around the world via MTV channels beginning March 2011. 3 Ball Productions created the series.

Comedy Central in the New Year will reveal a new logo and a fresh on-air look. The new logo will go away from the present urban graffiti style and instead be represented by a letter “C” within another inverted “C” and when the network has its name written out the word “Central” will be upside down. Comedy Central will debut its new logo officially on January 1, 2011 though it is being previewed on the network’s website now and will be completely integrated throughout the site by January 11. The logo was also designed with the intent of using it on digital platforms including social media. Comedy Central opted to not add a tagline with the new logo.

Former Dallas star Larry Hagman is returning to TV, making an appearance on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Hagman will play the love interest of Lynette’s mother, Stella Wingfield, played by veteran actress Polly Bergen. Hagman goes into production on the show next week.

This week, Time Warner Cable introduced its new SignatureHome service, a package containing digital cable, internet service and digital home phone for residential customers. SignatureHome components include Whole House DVR, Remote DVR Manager, Wireless Home Networking for up to 14 devices and VoiceZone on PC. For its residential customers, TWC is also offering a specially trained team referred to as SignatureService agents including Personal Solutions Advisors and Connections Specialists.
