Spike TV renewed its original series Auction Hunters for a 20-episode second season, though a premiere date has not been announced. Since the series premiered on November 9, it has averaged 1.1 million viewers each week. The first season finale will air on December 21.

Comedy Central will premiere its 30m sports news series Onion SportsDome on January 11 at 1030p following the season three bow of Tosh.0. Onion SportsDome is the main show of the Onion Sports Network and part of The Onion. Mark Shepard and Alex Reiser will co-anchor the Comedy Central show and will be joined by the “Dome” crew including senior sports insider Reggie Greengrass, update anchor Melissa Wells, “Wish Zone” host Jay Woodworth, analyst Doc Webb and investigative reporter Marc Howell.

ABC has a comedy in the works highlighting the plethora of gourmet food trucks in Los Angeles. Comedian Al Madrigal will star in the sitcom tentatively titled Family Owned about a multiethnic, multigenerational family who owns a food truck business. Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May, who both worked on King of the Hill, created the show and will serve as executive producers along with Warren Littlefield. ABC Studios will produce.

Veteran television producer and syndicator, Al Masini died on Monday in Hawaii where he lived. He was 80 years old. Mr. Masini created such iconic and popular television series as Entertainment Tonight, Star Search, Solid Gold, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and numerous others. Mr. Masini was described in his obituary as a “simple person, remembered for his unassuming demeanor and deals sealed with a handshake.” His longtime friend Carol Burnett said of his passing, Mr. Masini was “a talented producer and a fine man.” Mr. Masini is survived by his wife Charlyn Honda Masini and one sister.
