Oprah Winfrey will have the entire cast of “The Color Purple” on her show for the 25th Anniversary Reunion.

Tori Spelling is developing a daytime talk show for ABC and has selected Bravo reality star Jeff Lewis, star of Flipping Out as her co-host, cites Los Angeles Times: ShowTracker. The daytime show is described as a talk version of Will & Grace and is also being developed by ABC Media Productions.

Production crew members from NBC’s The Biggest Loser plan on picketing the show today and show producers are expected to hire non-union crew to continue production on the reality series. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) is supporting the 50 crew members who voted unanimously to strike because The Biggest Loser show producers refused to sign an IATSE agreement. Crew members cite the factors for striking include health coverage and safety issues. The Biggest Loser is the last major reality show that is not union. The series is in its tenth season and is produced Reveille Productions, 25/7 Productions and 3 Ball productions.

Coleman Jacoby, a veteran television comedy writer who worked during television’s golden age, died October 20 in East Meadow, NY though he lived in Manhattan. He was 95. Mr. Jacoby, along with his partner Arnie Rosen, created many of Jackie Gleason’s characters and also paired up Gleason with Art Carney. Starting in 1950, Mr. Jacoby and Mr. Rosen created such memorable characters for Gleason as Reginald Van Gleason III, the Poor Soul, Joe the Bartender, Charlie Bratton and Loud Mouth in addition to Rudy the Repairman and Fenwick Babbitt. Prior to this, Mr. Jacoby also wrote for Fred Allen’s radio show and more than 50 episodes for Phil Silver’s Sergeant Bilko character.

AMC decided to not offer its original series Rubicon a second season order. Produced by Warner Horizon Television, Rubicon first premiered on August 1. AMC released a statement about its verdict, “Rubicon gave us an opportunity to tell a rich and compelling story and we’re very proud of the series.
