The Paley Center for Media declared it will host its first awards program in May 2012 in New York City. In March this year, the Paley Center for Meida formed a television awards planning committee to consider establishing a new awards show in line with the Paley Center’s mission of excellence, to involve the public in the selection process, honor video programming across platforms and to engage a broad and diverse audience. The committee is headed by Steve Mosko, President, Sony Pictures Television; Tony Vinciquerra, Chairman/CEO, Fox Networks Group; and Dick Lippin, Chairman/Chief Executive, Lippin Group. The May 2012 date was chosen to coincide with the upfront presentations and additionally the Paley Center for Media plans to merge its annual New York gala fundraiser with the awards show to serve up a single televised event.
