Rosie O’Donnell returns to daytime television exclusively on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network as she helms a new daily talk show slated to premiere in 2011. The one-hour program, described as fun and uplifting, will be produced by O’Donnell and based in New York.  The show was brought to OWN by SantaBu LLC, run by Dick Robertson and Scott Carlin. Previously, O’Donnell hosted her former daytime talk show The Rosie O’Donnell Show from 1996-2002 for Warner Bros., and later in 2006 replaced Meredith Vieira as co-host and moderator on ABC’s The View.

Mary Hart, the long-time host of Entertainment Tonight, declared yesterday the upcoming 30th season of the syndicated show would be her last. Hart began on ET in 1982 and officially there has been no announcement as to who will replace her as host of the magazine show. ET’s 30th season kicks off September 13.

FOX announced officially Nigel Lythgoe is back as Executive Producer of American Idol for the show’s tenth season premiering next January. Lythgoe will serve as EP along with Simon Fuller, Cecile Frot-Coutaz and Ken Warwick. Lythgoe is co-founder of Big Red 2 Entertainment along with American Idol creator Simon Fuller and CKX.

NBC will substitute further episodes of Breakthrough with Tony Robbins featuring (had aired twice on Tuesday nights at 8p) with repeats of Minute to Win It gamer, effective immediately.  On it’s second outing this week, Breakthrough delivered a soft 0.7 A18-49 rating.  No information yet on where the other four produced episode will air – be it on air or online.
