On August 1, 2009, MTV celebrated it’s 28th Anniversary for being on the air.

As of August 1, 2009 the New York State tax went up from 8.375% to 8.875%.  Anything under $110 is still tax free.

New Jersey’s 25% tax hike on wine & hard liquor (not beer) goes also went into effect on Saturday.
