As NBC’s ER winds down during its fifteenth and final season, many of the original stars will make special appearances, with the exception of Julianna Margulies. Margulies was invited to reprise her character, Nurse Carol Hathaway but declined the offer saying the character left the show in the “best scenario possible”. Other stars who have returned so far include Anthony Edwards as Dr. Mark Greene and NBC expects appearances by Noah Wyle and Eriq La Salle who will direct an episode. The verdict is still out if George Clooney will make it back before the end as Dr. Doug Ross.
