CASTING CALL
Food Network announced a national talent search has begun for season five of The Next Food Network Star. Amateur and professional chefs are encouraged to apply. A three-minute audition tape describing why applicants should be the network’s new find should be submitted by the deadline date of October 31, 2008. Applications and contest rules can be found at www.FoodNetwork.com ; click on “Be on Food Network”. In addition, the network will host several open casting calls with casting directors on hand and applicants should bring the application, a photograph and resume/bio. The open call cities include: Washington, D.C. October 3; New York City October 6; Los Angeles October 15; Charleston October 23; Portland, OR October 23; and Philadelphia October 29.
