3G iPhone
Steve Jobs didn’t disappoint the faithful, unveiling the 3G iPhone at the Apple developer’s conference keynote, promising a July 11 simultaneous launch in 22 countries. Yes, it will start at $199 for the 8GB model in the U.S. – one third of what the original iPhone sold for. Yes, it will sport of a bunch of new applications – games, blog tools, MLB baseball apps – that take advantage of its newfound speed and GPS capability. Developers from companies such as eBay and the AP took turns demo-ing what they are working on. Business users stand to gain much from the new “iPhone 2.0” software release, including integration with Microsoft Office & iWork and the ability to save emailed images to your photo library. Oh, and it’s coming out in white as well as black. No word yet on what AT&T will charge for 3G data services.
